Ngunguru Retirement Village is set on four and a half acres of land only 100 metres from the picturesque Ngunguru estuary on the beautiful Tutukaka Coast – a short twenty five minute drive from Whangarei, Northland. The Village offers an affordable coastal lifestyle and is operated by a Registered Charitable Trust. The Ngunguru Retirement Village is run by elected members of the public who make up The Trustee Committee. Included on this committee are 2 Whangarei District Councillors, 3 resident trustees, 6 elected trustees from the community and the Village Administrator.

In 2021 Coastal Care celebrated 30 years of service and assistance to anyone in need of help in our local Tutukaka Coast area.
We are a group of Hospice-trained volunteers that assist elderly, injured, lonely, or ill residents by visiting, providing outings, company or transport when required, for a small donation to cover petrol costs.
There is a wide range of mainly mobility equipment for short term loan e.g. wheelchairs, walking aids, shower stools, commodes, and again donations help us to maintain and extend our range of equipment.
